Find out which option fits.
Additional states, municipalities, and entities increase the price, and you’ll see your exact number before you commit. The pricing page breaks down every business package and add-on.
Beyond the package
Quick questions are included. A short call or email about payroll, a notice, or a form won’t show up on an invoice.
IRS and state representation. If a notice needs more than a quick answer, I can represent you before the IRS, state, and local agencies as a separate engagement, with the scope and cost clear up front.
Bookkeeping and payroll. I can connect you with a bookkeeping and payroll professional I trust, so your books stay current all year and reach me in the shape your return needs.

Business Advisory may cover
- Review of your financial statements
- A check on whether your salary and distributions still make sense
- Retirement plan strategy for owners: 401(k), Solo 401(k), SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, or a defined benefit cash balance plan
- Pass-through entity tax (PTET) strategy, where it applies
- Implementing the strategies we’ve discussed
- Updated estimated payment guidance
Bigger moves, like an S election, a new partner, or selling the business, get their own engagement, quoted up front.
See Advisory PricingYour business has a team. I fit into it.
Your attorney, financial advisor, insurance agent, and bookkeeper each see part of the business. When they work in silos, things get missed or contradict each other. I coordinate with them so tax decisions fit the rest of the plan.
Already have a team? I’ll work alongside them. Need one? I can introduce you to people I trust.
Basic coordination, like answering your bookkeeper’s questions or sharing a projection with your financial advisor, is part of the Advisory Package. Deeper work, like structuring a transaction or attending meetings, is scoped and priced up front.
How I apply the law
Business returns draw scrutiny, so every position I take is grounded in the tax code, regulations, court cases, and IRS guidance, with documentation to back it up. I look for every benefit the law allows your business, tell you plainly where the gray areas are, and won’t take a position that can’t be defended.
Who I’m probably not the right fit for:
- You’re shopping mainly on price. Business returns take real research and review, and my fees reflect that. I’m always happy to talk and point you in the right direction, and if my pricing isn’t the right fit, I can refer you to a firm that may better suit your business right now. I’ll be ready when your business becomes more complex.
- You want an S election, a salary level, or a restructure chosen for the tax savings alone. Entity decisions have to make sense for the business, and the compensation and records have to support them.
- You want deductions, losses, or distributions reported without the records to support them. These are decided on the facts and the documentation, and I won’t take them without support.
- You’d like a hands-off, once-a-year relationship. The Advisory Package works because we stay in touch through the year.
FAQ
Common Questions
Are you accepting new clients?
Yes. Business returns are due earlier than personal returns, so reach out early in the year if you can. Filing Only is capped at 40 returns a season, and the Business Advisory Package can start any time.
Does my business need its own tax return?
It depends on how it’s set up. Partnerships and multi-member LLCs file Form 1065, S-Corporations file Form 1120-S, and C-Corporations file Form 1120, and I prepare all of them. If you’re a sole proprietor or a single-member LLC, your business is generally reported on your personal return instead, unless the LLC has elected to be taxed as a corporation (Form 2553 for an S-Corporation or Form 8832 for a C-Corporation). In that case, it files its own return. See how I work with individuals and sole proprietors.
Can you take over from my current accountant?
Yes. I start by reviewing your prior returns, depreciation schedules, and any payroll filings, so nothing is lost in the handoff. The easiest time to switch is early in the year or right after a filing, but I can start whenever you’re ready.
Do you handle bookkeeping and payroll?
I can connect you with a bookkeeping and payroll professional I trust, so your books stay current all year and reach me in the shape your return needs. I work alongside them, which keeps your year-round records and your tax planning in sync.
What does business tax work cost?
Business Filing Only starts at $1,800 and the Business Advisory Package starts at $4,000 per year. Price increases with complexity, and you’ll get an exact quote after I review your prior returns, before you commit to anything.
Who will actually work on my return?
I will. I prepare your business return myself and put it through an in-depth quality review before you see it. You won’t be handed off to junior staff, and the person who prepared your return is the one who answers your questions.
When does an S election make sense for my business?
It depends on your profit, a reasonable salary for your role, and your plans for the business. I run the numbers on your actual situation, including payroll costs and state rules, and tell you plainly whether it’s worth it. That analysis is available as a consultation or as part of the Business Advisory Package.
